Zur Entstehung des Ingenieurholzbaus

Více o knize
The depression at the end of World War I forces German civil engineers into timber construction which had almost been ignored in the second half of the 19th century. Within a few years methods of engineering are applicated to traditional carpenters' woodwork. They faciliate new wide spaning truss and arch constructions based on joints that reduce displacement to a minimum. In building storehouses for chemical industry, railway engine-sheds and antenna towers timber construction becomes even superior to steel construction. In the 40ies timber engineering is part of the upcoming standardization of construction in Germany.
