Více o knize
Laima Rita Kazakaitis narration of her fateful years between 1938 and 1949 Born in Lithuania in 1938, Laima lived a quite happy life until the invasion by the Russians. The family had to opt for a safer future and crossed the border in to Germany. Their first stay was in Oppeln, Upper Silesia, leaving later for Dassel, Detmold and finally to Greven. Here they came a bid to rest before eventually immigrating to the United States. In spite of the distance, the author always kept memories of Greven, even though troubles of war and post - war period had brought much distress and misery to the family. This all is clearly recorded by the dairy notes of a female citizen of Greven in her own words. A view on the DP-camp and the story of family agony brings up the rear of a lost time with hope that the future can be lived in peace.
