Více o knize
The Where the Rain Falls project investigates how changes in rainfall interact with societies. Findings from all case studies confirm that rainfall variability and food insecurity are key drivers for human mobility. The Bangladesh case study was conducted in Kurigram District, Rangpur Division. The scientific findings clearly provide evidence of changing rainfall patterns in the study area, which lead to increasing risks to the livelihoods and food security of the affected population. It was further found that landless, low-skilled and poor households are most sensitive to rainfall variabilty. In the study area, migration is a major coping strategy to address unfavourable economic and unexpected environmental conditions.
