Which significant figures of science and research have left distinct traces in Lower Austria? The publication "Land schaf[f]t Wissen / Researching the Region Life and Science in Lower Austria" portrays the outstanding life and research of 75 men and women from different scientific disciplines and age groups. It is an exploration of important places, such as their birthplace, region of upbringing and working place that affected their quest for knowledge. Through their academic work, reputation and commitment to application and education within the scientific community, they have contributed to establishing Lower Austria's reputation as an attractive science and research site. Photos are taken by photographer Rafaela Pröll and text is written by the science journalist Eva-Maria Gruber.
