Detective Gabe Wager and rodeo star Tommy Sanchez go back to Gabe's barrio days when he was a kid who idolized the star. Now Tommy needs help. When Wager investigates the rodeo, he discovers two cowboys who kill as well as they ride. The first of the Gabe Wager mystery series won an Edgar Award.
