This beginner's work is concise and easily portable due to its format. It presents a relatively comprehensive overview of 300 characters, with one character per page, resulting in a certain density of information. Preceded by a usage guide, this manual provides for each character its translation, key, ancient and modern forms, a drawing to visualize the ancient form, a diagram featuring the character in the center surrounded by four squares, its composition, grammatical functions, and translations. It also includes a simple pronunciation exercise, the decomposition of the character in stroke order, and examples of its use as a prefix and suffix. The book is accompanied by a pinyin index, a radicals and characters index, as well as mp3 recordings.
