Describes different methods for using graphic literature in the secondary school classroom. Includes a history of the format, with profiles of early creators and highlights in the history of graphic literature. Then, each chapter focuses on different genres and includes an analysis and lessons for one to two different novels as well as creator profiles, wasy to incorporate other media, chapter summaries, discussion questions, and essay topics. Finally, the last chapter provides instructions for guiding students through the creation of their own graphic novels.
