Jean Roba passed away in 2006 at the age of 73 after having animated Boule et Bill for over 40 years. The series has always been based on positive values, highlighting the small joys and great happiness of childhood, the tender and sincere friendship between a little boy and his dog, the moments shared with his parents, and the love of nature. Ecology has always been one of the pillars of the series, symbolized by the birds that flutter throughout the panels. Since 2003, Laurent Verron has taken over the world of Boule et Bill with Roba's support, sharing the same values. Therefore, at his request, Boule et Bill will now be printed on recycled paper. As for the gags (signed by Corbeyran, Veys, and Chric), they remain unchanged, always funny and tender, celebrating friendship and laughter, family and nature as in the best days of the Spirou magazine.
