Více o knize

The exhibition presented unique hand-drawn maps, old atlases and digitized globes not typically found in other collections. Of particular note were newly discovered unique items such as Gijsbertson’s map of Europe, De Wit‘s map of Germany and Camocios’ map of the Turkish siege of Malta. The exhibition presented an original collection of works that have not yet been on display to the public. It was aimed at lovers of geography, history and cartography, as well as the arts, graphics and crafts, all of which are part of old maps, atlases and globes. They are a reflection of their time, when the author of a map could be recognized by his cartographical precision and use of colors, engravings and original compositions.00Exhibition: CU FS Map Collection, Prague, Czech Republic (May 7th, 2014 – July 31st, 2014)
