Více o knize

The catalog "Surrealism 100. Prague, Tartu, and Other Stories..." introduces Estonian and Czech surrealism and features a rich selection of images from the exhibition of the same name. The exhibition presents a dialogue between Czech and Estonian surrealism. On one hand, the parties are very different; on the other hand, they are connected by the complex history of both countries in the Soviet sphere of influence in the 20th century. Similar to the history of Estonian culture and art, Czech and other Central and Eastern European art has, to some extent, been unjustly overlooked and neglected in the grand narratives. Western Europe powerfully tells its story – it is time for us here in Eastern Europe to do the same. The exhibition was created in collaboration with the National Gallery in Prague and is part of the main program of the European Capital of Culture 2024.
