This study examines how feminist authors utilize myth to challenge patriarchal social systems. It analyzes the specific literary strategies in the works of two Francophone African authors, Ken Bugul and Calixthe Beyala, alongside two German-speaking European authors, Ingeborg Bachmann and Elfriede Jelinek. The focus is on Bugul's "De l'autre côté du regard" (2003), Beyala's "C'est le soleil qui m'a brûlée" (1987), Bachmann's "Das Buch Franza" (1979), and Jelinek's "Die Klavierspielerin" (1983) through a comparative lens. The analysis begins with the ambivalent portrayal of women in mythology and explores the position, meaning, and role of myth in literature, particularly regarding the transmission of constructs such as gender and power relations within society. By investigating these themes, the study reveals how these authors subvert traditional narratives and challenge societal norms, ultimately contributing to a deeper understanding of the intersection between myth and feminism in their literary works.
