Více o knize
Before becoming a writer, Carl Hauptmann pursued an academic career, studying natural sciences in Jena under Ernst Haeckel from 1880 to 1883. He then moved to Zürich, initially enrolling in the Faculty of Philosophy (1884-1885) before switching to the Faculty of Medicine (1885-1887). Richard Avenarius, one of his professors, had a significant impact on his thinking. This volume includes two key works documenting Hauptmann's scientific career: his 1883 dissertation, 'Die Bedeutung der Keimblättertheorie für die Individualitätslehre und den Generationswechsel,' and 'Metaphysik in der modernen Physiologie,' completed in 1892 as part of a broader study titled 'Beiträge zu einer dynamischen Theorie der Lebewesen.' Although this sequel was intended to advance his academic ambitions, Hauptmann's commitment to writing grew stronger, leading to a slow progression on the project. His early texts showcase a vibrant creative energy, yet 'Metaphysik' diverges significantly from his later work, 'Seelensucher,' where he adopts a strictly materialistic perspective, viewing the body-soul interaction purely in physiological terms.
