Alan Harrison is an ambitious teenager desperate to escape his poor upbringing and make it in the world of international banking. Let down by his schooling, he overcomes the odds and after a chance meeting in a pub, secures his dream job which allows him to leave home where his relationship with his father was painfully fraught.
