Více o knize

"There are many places in Romania, but only a few are Paradises. For a place to become a Paradise, it requires a consecration. The foundations of this consecration can be diverse. For instance, monasteries have created Paradises in Moldova, while in the Danube Delta, fish and pelicans play the main role, and the Paradise of Maramureș has been shaped by both its places and its people. For some, the difficulties of the journey increase the value of the tourist Paradise. Others even rely on comfort in Paradise. For almost half a century, Maramureș has been an affordable Paradise accessible by train, motorcycle, or Trabant... as you were jolted in local rides and walked dozens of kilometers. Those who loved peasants, horinca, pink bacon, and white cheese took the road to Maramureș, as did seekers of painted glass icons and old objects bought for little. Three generations of townspeople returned from each vacation with their arms full and could not take everything back. I have also been to Maramureș. The first time was in the winter of 1970. Gray sky, lots of snow, the wood of the houses and trees wet and black. Only the striped skirts of the women remembered the colors of summer. Because my Paradise is in the Delta, Maramureș was just a beautiful place. However, countless people passionately love Maramureș. Kosei Miya is part of that family."
