Více o knize

A cult compilation of Charles de Gaulle's memoirs, covering his return to political affairs (1958-1969). "In May 1958, on the eve of a disastrous rift in the nation and facing the annihilation of the so-called responsible system, de Gaulle, now notorious but having only his legitimacy as a means, must take charge of the destiny. 'I have little time to decide.'" Charles de Gaulle's *Mémoires d'espoir*, Vol. I, 1970. Just as General de Gaulle wrote a comprehensive account of his actions between 1940 and 1946 in his *Mémoires de guerre*, the *Mémoires d'espoir* were to include three volumes covering his return to political affairs in 1958: *Le Renouveau 1958-1962* *L'Effort 1962-1965* *Le Terme 1966-1969*. His death interrupted the writing, as the General had just completed the first two chapters of Volume II.
