The donkey, the dog, the cat, and the rooster have become so old that their owners want to kill them now that they can no longer work. But the animals escape and head to Bremen to become town musicians. In the forest, they come across a small house where some robbers are staying, and the four friends decide to drive away the robbers and live in the house themselves.
