Dr. Jacques Vallee began his career as an astronomer at the Paris Observatory in 1961. His interest in UFOs was sparked by witnessing the destruction of tracking tapes of unknown objects while working for the French Space Committee. After moving to the U.S. and earning a Ph.D. in computer science, he collaborated with J. Allen Hynek on Project Blue Book, leading to the creation of this work. Vallee is now a venture capitalist based in San Francisco.
