Doris Schmid, an artist working in time-based media such as video, film, and photography, explores themes of time and space in her work. This publication serves as a comprehensive overview of her artistic journey, incorporating texts and images from fellow artists and musicians. Central to her practice is the interplay between memory, real and filmic spaces, and the experiences of traveling both physically and through projections. Schmid employs projection techniques in diverse ways, capturing footage from moving vehicles and projecting films onto bodies and landscapes, as well as creating concert projects. The book reflects her artistic approach through a montage-like assembly of video stills, photographs, and exhibition views, organized into thematic groups that reveal new narratives. An in-depth conversation with Klaus W. Eisenlohr enriches the text, alongside contributions from musical collaborators Katharina Klement, Jürgen Palmtag, and Thomas Peter, enhancing the dialogue between image and sound. Additionally, the publication features a photographic-literary project with Swiss artist Klaus Merz, showcasing Schmid's "Photo of the Day" series, where selected images from 2005 to 2015 inspire ten short literary vignettes.
