Kayli Winchester is a dirt-poor girl living in a hotel, struggling to care for her alcoholic father and teenage brother, whom she’s determined to keep in school. However, the job they present is more dangerous than anticipated, turning the hunters into the hunted, with a target now after Kayli. The Academy boys strive to keep her safe, but a thief like Kayli struggles to stay hidden. This marks the beginning of the Scarab Beetle series, featuring mature themes and situations.
