Becoming a Parish of Intentional Disciples

Více o knize

"It is not the same thing to have known Jesus as not to have known him... We know that with Jesus life becomes richer." - Pope Francis. In her first book, Sherry Weddell, cofounder of the Catherine of Siena Institute, highlighted the transformative power of consciously choosing to follow Jesus as a disciple. Now, in her groundbreaking work, she collaborates with experienced leaders to explore how to transform Catholic parishes into vibrant centers of discipleship and outreach. The authors delve into various aspects of parish transformation, including the significance of intercessory prayer, the effectiveness of "fireside chats" for enhancing connections between pastors and parishioners, and the shared responsibility of laypeople and pastors in disciple-making. They also examine the revolutionary effects of adopting a discipleship approach in youth ministry and share success stories from parishes that have cultivated a culture of intentional discipleship. Weddell challenges readers to consider, "Are we willing to answer the call and pay the price necessary to become a new generation of saints through which God can do extraordinary things in our time?"
