Více o knize

The world is currently experiencing significant disorder, marked by chaos as we near the end of the second decade of the twenty-first century. The rise of the East is met with skepticism in the West, and the international liberal order faces a crisis. For seven decades, Darwinism has influenced global governance, but as sweeping changes occur, confidence in these systems wanes. Economic nationalism is challenging globalization, with strong leaders leveraging citizens' grievances to prioritize local interests over global ideals. The vision of a united global village appears to be reversing, as a zero-sum approach to development and the securitization of growth heighten conflict potential amid weakening global governance institutions. This study examines the new world order, linking current challenges to the inequities of the post-war international structure. It highlights emerging actors and ideas poised to reshape the twenty-first century. India, with its size, growing influence, and involvement in major multilateral organizations, is positioned to play a crucial role in shaping future regimes. The authors emphasize India's commitment to constitutional democracy and its identity as a non-hegemonic global power, which will be vital for its leadership. In a multipolar, contested, and uncertain world, India stands out as a nation capable of crafting an equitable ethic for a new international order.
