Rivčin deník našla v roce 1945 u rozbořeného krematoria v Auschwitz-Birkenau lékařka Rudé armády. Odvezla ho s sebou do Ruska, po její smrti ho zdědili její příbuzní a na světlo světa se dostal teprve, když rukou psaný sešit přinesla její vnučka, která emigrovala do USA, po více než šedesáti letech do Holocaust Center of Jewish Family and Children’s Services v San Francisku.
