V průběhu knihy sledujete její přerod, kdy se z nešikovné hrdinky tvrdým výcvikem stane drsná žena, která ve společnosti obrovitého Grunthora a ohyzdného Achmeda stěží nalezne odpovídajícího soupeře. To vše je obohaceno o zajímavě pojatý model magie ve formě slov a písní, nemluvě o zdařile využitém motivu časových posunů. Tento epos, v duchu dnešního žánru směle propracovaný, se záhy dočkal srovnání s oblíbenými sériemi Kolo času od Roberta Jordana či Meč pravdy od Terryho Goodkinda. Přeložila Jana Radková.
