V tejto knihe sa filozof so špeciálne vymedzeným chápaním filozofie podujal preskúmať tzv. rámcové otázky prostredníctvom analýzy pojmov, analýzy jazyka. Presnejšie, podujal sa preskúmať štruktúru vzájomných vzťahov medzi mysľou, jazykom a spoločnosťou, teda vlastne štruktúrne väzby troch vzájomne prepojených rámcov, prostredníctvom analýzy vzťahov medzi základnými pojmami týchto rámcov.
