    Claude Debussy byl francouzský skladatel, který se stal jednou z nejvlivnějších postav hudby pozdního 19. a raného 20. století. Jeho tvorba, často spojovaná s impresionismem, se vyznačuje smyslovým obsahem a častým používáním netradičních tónin a stupnic. Debussyho hudební jazyk, inspirovaný mimo jiné francouzským symbolismem, ovlivnil mnoho následujících generací skladatelů. Byl známý svým odmítáním tradičních hudebních forem a hledáním nových zvukových barev a textur.
