Focusing on the intersection of digital global media and memory studies, this work addresses the need for innovative theories in light of geopolitical shifts and migration. It explores the underrepresented influence of film and media studies within memory discourse, proposing fresh perspectives on remediation, transculturality, and the archive. This study aims to enrich the understanding of how media shapes collective memory in a rapidly changing world.

Im Jubiläumsheft von "Frauen und Film" wird die Archivierung sowie die Praktiken des Sammelns und Kuratierens thematisiert. Die Diskussionen der 1980er Jahre zur Filmarbeit von Frauen führten zu neuen theoretischen Positionen und werfen Fragen zur Restaurierung und Bewahrung dieser oft prekär erhaltenen Filme auf. Beiträge bieten queer-feministische Perspektiven auf verschiedene Themen rund um Film und Archivierung.
