Diese zweite, umfassende Monografie zum Büro Sauerbruch Hutton schliesst an das bereits erschienene „Archive“ an, welches das Werk des Architekturbüros von seiner Gründung 1989 bis zum Jahr 2006 dokumentierte. „Archive 2“ beinhaltet detaillierte Beschreibungen von 70 Arbeiten aus dem Zeitraum von 2006 bis 2015, sechs von den Architekten verfasste Essays und ein vollständiges Verzeichnis aller Projekte. Die Entwicklung des Architekturbüros wird anhand einer Reihe von fertiggestellten Gebäuden, aktuell laufenden Arbeiten und bislang nicht realisierten Projekten nachgezeichnet. Das Buch beleuchtet das vom Büro verfolgte nachhaltige Design, seine vielfältigen Eingriffe in postindustrielle Stadtlandschaften und das Entwickeln einer architektonischen Sprache voller Sinn und Sinnlichkeit, die sowohl auf den physischen und sozialen Kontext der Stadt sowie auf die funktionalen, technischen, räumlichen und skulpturalen Umstände reagiert.
