Focusing on economic vulnerability among older adults, the book presents an interdisciplinary analysis that combines insights from happiness studies, economics, and stress research. Utilizing empirical data from a sample of 1,500 Swiss adults aged 65-84, it identifies three overlapping groups of pensioners facing economic challenges. The research distinguishes between objective poverty and subjective perceptions of financial strain, leading to a typology of eight distinct profiles of economic vulnerability. This framework highlights varying degrees of agency in coping with financial difficulties.
