Mitsumi will hoch hinaus, um so ihrem verschlafenen Heimatort wieder auf die Beine zu helfen. Dafür entschließt sie sich eine Oberschule in Tokio zu besuchen. Dort angekommen, hält der Großstadtdschungel so manches Fettnäpfchen für sie parat, aber vielleicht auch erste Möglichkeiten in Sachen Liebe …?

Mitsumi hat es geschafft! Als neue Vizepräsidentin des Schülerrats hat sie ein Ziel erreicht, welches für ihre Laufbahn als Politikerin nützlich sein wird. Und auch zwischen Shima und ihr geht es voran, denn sie beide sitzen inzwischen in der Klasse nebeneinander. Liegt etwa ein romantisches Knistern in der Luft, das mehr als nur Freundschaft verheißt?

Mitsumi hat sich von Shima getrennt, da sie nur Freundschaft für ihn empfindet. Trotzdem lädt sie ihn und ihre ehemaligen Klassenkameraden in den Sommerferien ein, ein paar Tage in ihrer Heimat zu verbringen. Ob Sonne, Sand und Meer dafür sorgen, dass es zwischen Shima und ihr doch zu knistern beginnt?

Mitsumi hat sich endlich getraut, Shima ihre Gefühle zu gestehen – und der erwidert diese überraschenderweise! Nun muss sie herausfinden, was es bedeutet, in einer Beziehung zu sein. Ob die beiden es schaffen, ihre Verbindung zu vertiefen und ein richtiges Paar zu werden? Oder war Mitsumis Herzklopfen am Ende nur Schwärmerei?

Mitsumi und Shima konnten ihre erste Meinungsverschiedenheit klären und sind nun wieder beste Freunde. Währenddessen nähert sich das Schuljahr mit großen Schritten den Sommerferien, aber erst steht noch die spannende Wahl für den Vorsitz des Schülerrats an. Und dann rutscht Mitsumi auch noch vor Shima raus, dass sie gerne mit ihm in den Zoo gehen würde. Ist das etwa ein Date?!

Zu Beginn des elften Schuljahrs werden die Klassen neu gemischt. Mitsumi und Makoto finden sich plötzlich in der A-Klasse wieder, während Shima und Mika in der B-Klasse sind. Nur Yuzu ist ganz allein in der D-Klasse gelandet und tut sich schwer, Anschluss zu finden. Ob ihre ehemaligen Klassenkameraden ihr Halt geben und sie aufmuntern können?

Der Valentinstag naht! Liebe und der Duft nach selbst gemachter Schokolade liegen in der Luft. Besonders Mitsumis Klassenkameradin Mika legt sich ins Zeug, um den Mädchenschwarm Sosuke für sich zu gewinnen. Der jedoch fühlt sich überrumpelt. Liegt es vielleicht daran, dass er Gefühle für eine andere hat?

Das Schulfest steht vor der Tür und damit das Musical von Mitsumis Klasse. Obwohl Shima dem Schauspiel abgeschworen hat, lässt er sich dazu überreden, eine Hauptrolle zu übernehmen. Während er selbst von allen gefeiert wird, fühlt sich Mitsumi ohne ihre Freunde aus der Heimat fehl am Platz. War es etwa die falsche Entscheidung, nach Tokio zu kommen?

Nach Pleiten, Pech und Pannnnen beim Schulbeginn ist das Landei Mitsumi endlich im trubeligen Tokio angekommen. Mit ihrer Klasse macht sie nicht nur das Karaoke und Kino unsicher, sondern lernt auch die Vorzüge der Großstadtküche kennnnen. Sosuke, der Mädchenschwarm, bleibt für sie jedoch ein Buch mit sieben Siegeln.

Mitsumi Iwakura przenosi się do Tokio z małego miasteczka, by rozpocząć naukę w liceum. Tym samym wprowadza w życie pierwszy etap swojego idealnego planu na przyszłość. I choć zderzenie z nową rzeczywistością nie do końca wygląda tak, jak sobie to wyobrażała, jej pozytywne podejście do życia i nieprzebrane pokłady optymizmu sprawiają, że nieświadomie zaraża szczęściem wszystkich dookoła.
