Dvě sestry žijí se svou matkou v malém domečku. V zimě je navštíví medvěd, kterého s láskou opečovávají a ubytovávají. V létě se setkávají s trpaslíkem, který jim nepřeje. V těchto chvílích jim vždy přispěchá na pomoc medvěd. Nakonec, po tom, co je trpaslík zneškodněn, se medvěd promění v prince. Ten se ožení se Sněženku a Růženka si vezme jeho bratra.

Starému oslovi s věkem ubývaly síly a hospodář se ho chtěl zbavit. Osel se proto rozhodl, že odejde do Brém a tam se stane městským muzikantem. Cestou potkal psa, kočku a kohouta, kteří na tom byli stejně jako on. Když večer dorazili k chaloupce, kde hodovali loupežníci, začaly se dít věci…

Vdova žijící v chaloupce u lesa má dvě dcery, Bělinku a Růženku. Dívky se toulají lesem, starají se o domácnost; pod oknem roste keř bílých růží a keř rudých růží. Jednoho dne se objeví medvěd mluvící lidský hlasem a prosí o pohostinství. Následujícího roku se děvčátka setkajítaké se zlým, nerudným trpaslíkem, který medvěda zaklel. Při čtvrtém setkání s trpaslíkem se medvěd objeví, zlomí prokletí a promění se v krásného prince, který pak dívky odvede na svůj zámek.
