Po bok těchto stěží zapomenutelných příběhů, které postupně odkrývají na jedné straně detaily, metody a motivy činů masových vrahů, na straně druhé pak osobní důvody, jež ženou vpřed jejich pronásledovatelky, vřazuje se Pohřešovaná Chrise Mooneyho, ne však jako pouhá variace na oblíbené a žádané téma, ale jako jeho osobité a do paměti se rovněž hluboko vrývající zpracování.

Po úspěšném odhalení brutálního mučitele a vraha přezdívaného Cestovatel (Pohřešovaná, Knižní klub, 2008) stíhá Darby McCormicková, nadaná bostonská forenzní vyšetřovatelka, dalšího sériového vraha.
