Druhá kniha Simona Kernicka se odehrává na stejné policejní stanici jako jeho prvotina. Dokonce na první román, Záležitosti kolem zabíjení, i velmi volně navazuje. Hlavního „hrdinu“ ovšem nahrazuje hrdina nový, tentokrát skrznaskrz kladný. Během dramatické zápletky a (jak jinak) nečekaného rozuzlení jsme svědky rychlých a smělých akcí, brutality londýnské mafie i vnitřních vztahů na policejní stanici, kde detektiv Gallan ještě zacvičuje úplně nového kolegu, absolventa policejní školy. Spolupracuje také s inspektorem Malikem z prvního románu, který nyní přešel do jednotky Scotland Yardu pro boj s organizovaným zločinem.
