Growing up in a Lincolnshire cottage during World War Two, Judith Nicholls has made significant contributions to children's poetry, publishing over forty collections and appearing in numerous anthologies. She views poetry as a means of exploration and understanding, emphasizing the creative process behind her work. After many years of sharing her craft through school visits, she has compiled a selection of her poetry for Hobnob Press, celebrating her enduring passion for language and storytelling, even as her earlier works have largely gone out of print.

The titles in this series use rich, rhyming stories and picture/word flaps to give children a fun way of exploring sound and rhyme. Each story is told in the style of a fable, with two flaps per page - each concealing a word which forms part of the rhyming text.
