Román Viz LÁSKA představuje osobní příběh Momika Neumana, který se jako malý chlapec poprvé nepřímo setkává s fenoménem holocaustu, neboť jeho rodina tímto peklem prošla a odnesla si, viděno dětskýma očima, podivné zvyky a řeči. Momik si narážky na šoa „překládá“ do vlastního jazyka a také se podle toho náležitě chová. Toto trauma jej však neopouští ani v dospělosti a jeho posedlostí se stává polský spisovatel a malíř Bruno Schulz, který byl za války zastřelen příslušníky SS. Současně však navazuje intimní přátelství s dědečkem Anšelem Wassermanem, jenž ho s sebou bere zpět do minulosti do koncentračního tábora a Momik se tak stává svědkem jeho životních osudů. Mnohovrstevnatost, jež je ostatně charakteristická pro veškerou autorovu beletristickou tvorbu, se odráží i v celkové výstavbě díla, které je rozděleno do čtyř částí nesoucích jména hlavních hrdinů či, lépe řečeno, té postavy, jíž se bude hlouběji věnovat. U Grossmanových prací se totiž dá jen velice těžko vysledovat klasické schéma jednoho či dvou hrdinů hlavních, vetší počet hrdinů střední důležitosti a hrstky postav marginálních. Jeho vypravěčské umění spočívá právě v tom, že drtivá většina postav, ač se třeba všem nedostane srovnatelně velikého prostoru, hraje obdobně důležitou roli. Velmi zjednodušeně by se dalo říci, že se čtenář setkává s hrdiny hlavními a těmi naprosto marginálními.
