Sohrab Sepehri (1928–1980) zählt zweifellos zu den berühmtesten Dichtern der iranischen Moderne. Sepehri wurde in Kaschan am Rande der zentralen Wüste des Iran geboren, studierte an der Fakultät der Schönen Künste der Universität Teheran und später in Paris.
