In the 21st century, Lutheran theology is practiced globally, reflecting the widespread presence of the Lutheran communion across diverse linguistic and cultural contexts. To address this, the United Evangelical Lutheran Church of Germany (VELKD), in collaboration with the German National Committee of the Lutheran World Federation, is launching a series of English translations of current VELKD publications. The inaugural volume features five texts by prominent German theologians on essential topics within the Lutheran Church: Theology (Michael Roth), Worship (Christian Lehnert), Congregations (Martin Kumlehn), Ecumenism (Bernd Oberdorfer), and Church Law (Hendrik Munsonius). This initiative aims to make significant theological insights accessible to a broader audience, fostering a deeper understanding of Lutheran perspectives in contemporary discourse.
