Der kleine Bär unternimmt einen Spaziergang und hört ein ängstliches Quieken aus dem Wald. Dort findet er sechs verängstigte Mäuse, die sich verlaufen haben. Mutig hilft er ihnen und entwickelt einen Trick, um ihre Feinde zu überlisten.
Der kleine Theo hat sich im Wald verlaufen. Seine Mutter hat ihn eindringlich vor den wilden und gefährlichen Tieren dort gewarnt. Dies erzählt er dem Bären, der ihm freundlich Hilfe anbietet. Auch der Bär ist angesichts der Gefahr leicht beunruhigt. Es begegnen ihnen noch mehrere Tiere wie der Elefant und der Löwe, die sich aus Furcht vor den wilden Tieren der Gruppe anschliessen. Gegen Abend hören sie plötzlich ein lautes Geräusch und alle erschrecken und fliehen - bis auf den tapferen Theo. Die immer stärker werdende Spannung der märchenhaften Geschichte wird mit einem überraschenden Happy End aufgelöst. Ähnlich wie in "Molly und die Ungeheuer der Nacht" behandelt Wormell das Thema Gefahr und deren positive Auflösung. Gestalterisch benutzt er auch hier Aquarelltechnik, die er mit Stiften dezent nacharbeitet, dieses Mal allerdings in realistischer Farbgebung. Gut geeignet zum Vorlesen und als Gesprächsanregung über echte und eingebildete Gefahren - und obendrein wunderschön illustriert. Gerne empfohlen! Ab 4
