Letos uplyne 70 let od narození a 30 let od úmrtí Johna Lennona – muzikanta, umělce, spisovatele, zakladatele a vůdčí osobnosti skupiny The Beatles. Lennon je jednou z významných osobností světové kultury a výrazně se angažoval také v politice. Díky své slávě se stal jednou z nejfotografovanějších postav 20. stol. Yoko Onos großes, weitgehend unbekanntes Zeichnungskonvolut „Franklin Summer“, Inkblot-Arbeiten in stets gleichgroßem Format, von denen Ono seit 1994 mehr als 1.400 Beispiele geschaffen hat, wird mit rund einhundert von der Künstlerin ausgewählten Werken erstmals publiziert. Mit „Vertical Memory“ von 1997 erscheint Onos 21-teilige konzeptuelle Fotografie aus einem verzerrten Gesicht, das ihrem Vater gilt. Mit dem Werk manifestiert Yoko Ono ihre Lebensgeschichte. Drei historische Partituren aus ihrem Künstlerbuch „Grapefruit“ von 1964, es sind „Drinking Piece for Orchestra“, „Bicycle Piece for Orchestra“ und „Painting to Be Slept On“, werden erstmals hier gezeigt.

When work started on this book, Yoko Ono freighted two boxcars full of John Lennon's personal memorabilia from New York to Los Angeles - photographs that had never been seen before, drawings, videotapes, poems, unpublished songs and other writings. The Lennon family in England also provided previously unpublished photographs.;The text of the book is entirely made up of unpublished writings by John, while Yoko Ono has made the book a personal tribute to John by writing the introduction.

Yoko Ono engages in a series of discussions with Hans Ulrich Obrist, reflecting on her artistic journey in visual art and music, her development in New York, and her interactions with John Cage, along with her notable work, Unfinished Music No. 1 (1968). Over five interviews, she explores essential themes, including her Fluxus pieces and her longstanding commitment to world peace and human rights, which permeate much of her art. Ono recounts the founding of 'Nutopia' with John Lennon and shares insights into her numerous installations and performances that continue to resonate today. The conversations feature contributions from architects and artists like Rem Koolhaas and Gustav Metzger, showcasing Ono as a multifaceted and interdisciplinary artist. Born in 1933 in Tokyo, she currently lives and works in New York.
