Set in the 9th century Viking world, the story follows Halfdan Hroriksson's relentless pursuit of justice and vengeance after his brother's murder. To avenge his brother, he joins a Danish army led by the legendary Ragnar Logbrod, seeking to prove his worth as a warrior in the upcoming invasion of Western Frankia. As he navigates the perils of battle, Halfdan must contend with external threats from the Frankish forces and hidden dangers lurking among his own ranks, testing his skills and resolve.
