    Roberta Leigh, píšící také pod jmény Rachel Lindsay, Rozella Lake a Janey Scott, byla jednou z prvních autorek žánru romance, která představila silné hrdinky s kariérními ambicemi. Tyto postavy se nenechaly ovládat mužskými protějšky. Leigh se věnovala nejen psaní, ale vlastnila také filmovou společnost, pro kterou vytvořila sedm televizních seriálů pro děti. Hudbu k těmto seriálům často skládala sama tím, že nahrála melodii, kterou pak profesionálně zpracovali jiní.
