Kniha (název knihy) není sice příliš vhodným čtivem pro citlivější povahy, nicméně poskytuje bezpochyby zajímavý vhled do temných zákoutí mysli těch, kteří překročili nejpřísnější tabu lidské společnosti, a nepochybně uspokojí všechny čtenáře, kteří lační po pohledu do nejtemnějších hlubin lidské povahy.

Už odnepaměti lidstvo vynalézá ďábelské prostředky k trestání, mučení a trýznění. Jakkoliv se nám to zdá odporné, tyto tortury byly celá staletí součástí práva.
