Ještě se naposled vraťme do první světové války. Ke 266. letce přichází mladší bratr pilota, kterého sestřelili Němci. „Musíme jim pomoci,“ říká Biggles a průzkum začíná. Jedna z prvních a nejlepších autorových knih!

Společnosti obchodující se zlatem a drahými kameny bijí na poplach. Všechny větší zásilky jsou ukradeny a firmy se bojí své zboží letecky přepravovat. Má to ale jeden háček - aby mohli vydělávat, musí pružně reagovat na výkyvy trhu, ale to bez letadel nejde. Jedna z nich si založí vlastní leteckou společnost.
