Domů se však vrátí jen jeho kůň a mladý plantážník není k nalezení. Zmizí však i lovec mustangů. Místo těchto dvou se však objeví bezhlavý jezdec, který jezdí na svém koni s hlavou v podpaždí. Samozřejmně se vyřeží obě záhady, jak zmizení obou mužů tak i existence bezhlavého jezdce.
