The very idea that a secret organization could exist for over 800 years without detection by anyone was not credible. Either way, Steven Smythe had little interest in finding out. As a burnt-out trial attorney now operating a bed and breakfast in rural Canada under an assumed name, it was in Steven Smythe's best interest to keep a low profile and avoid controvery of any sort. But fate has different plans, as the eccentric old man who lives on the adjoining property turns out to be one of the last remaining true "horsemen." In this action drama, the author weaves fact and fiction together so carefully it becomes impossible to tell the differnece. The book is inspired by fact - there really was a secret organizaation of horse breeders and trainers that existed in ancient Scotland. But such an organization couldn't exist today. Or could it?

    • In mid-1943, at the behest of their Japanese allies, the Germans send their best agent, Johann Schmidt, code name "RAVEN", to sabotage the U.S. Navy's torpedo factory in Newport, Rhode Island. Cunning, intelligent, resourceful, and utterly ruthless, Schmidt arrives off the Rhode Island coast by German U-boat, seemingly undetected. The agent then succeeds in getting on to the Newport Navy Base and finds employment there. This aids Schmidt in discovering the location of the Navy's bulk explosives storage site: Rose Island, located in the middle of the Eastern Passage of Narragansett Bay, one mile west of Newport. However, through cooperation between the British Intelligence Service MI6 and the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and aided by a stroke of luck, RAVEN's arrival is discovered. The FBI assigns one of their best counterespionage agents, Brian Weeple, to track down and capture and/or eliminate the saboteur. But Schmidt is not who everyone assumes him to be, significantly complicating the search. Will Schmidt's secret identity be discovered, and can RAVEN be caught and stopped before the assignment is carried out?

    • They say one never forgets his or her first love. So, what does a man do when he receives a letter from his first love - over 40 years after they last spent any time together - suggesting they reunite now that both are single and in their 60s? Angela's Letter is about two people and the challenges and joys they face trying to see if they can rekindle the love they shared many years earlier. Jack is a successful, retired widower just beginning to think about restarting his life 15 months after his wife's death. Angela is his high school sweetheart, recently widowed, and an independently wealthy businesswoman. Angela has decided to live her remaining years to the fullest, and part of her plans include the letter she sends to Jack to see if he might be interested in renewing their relationship. While genuinely intrigued by Angela's proposal, Jack's interest is tempered by his adult daughter's attitude. Seemingly not yet over her mother's death, her overbearing ways are poisoning everyone around her. Unbeknownst to Jack however, she is actually haunted by a foolish act from years before. Now Jack must do all he can to avoid having his daughter destroy her own life, as well as his opportunity for a new life with Angela.
