The Gryps showdown nears its conclusion!Now in the semifinal of the Gryps, Team Enfield of Seidoukan Academy faces off against Team Yellow Dragon of Jie Long Seventh Institute. Ayato and his fellow competitors will need to fight the twin siblings, Shenyun and Shenhua Li, who were one of the strongest teams from last year's Phoenix; Cecily Wong and Hufeng Zhao, previous winners of the Phoenix; and team leader Xiaohui Wu, the highest-ranking disciple of Xinglou Fan. Can Ayato overcome them all and proceed to the final match against Team Lancelot of Saint Gallardworth Academy?! And if that wasn't enough to keep him busy, the Golden Bough Alliance begins to make their move in the shadows...

After the school fair ends and summer begins, Team Enfield starts special training to prepare for the five-against-five Gryps. Ayato and his friends are a favorite in the competition, but Galaxy is about to make its move...

Team Enfield may have won, but that doesn't mean they have all the answers... Despite some injuries suffered in the semifinals, Ayato and his friends emerge as the winners of the Gryps tournament. With the conclusion of the competition, Kirin's father is released, and after his safe return, he wishes to thank Team Enfield personally. However, each member of the team must fight their own battles. Julis, Saya, and Claudia all have personal matters to attend to, which leaves Ayato alone to meet the Toudou family. But first, Ayato takes Kirin to his home, where the two of them realize they have a lot to learn about each other-and themselves.

Family matters aren't so simple.After confronting his father about Haruka, Ayato decides to visit Magnum Opus's lab to awaken his sister from the deep slumber she has been trapped in for several years. But the happy reunion lasts only so long, as Haruka tells Ayato of her past and her connection to Lamina Mortis. Meanwhile, realizing Haruka has been resurrected, the Golden Bough Alliance moves forward with their plan in the shadows...But first, Ayato will have to deal with Madiath's threats on both his life and Haruka's!

Things are heating up in Liesentania! At long last, the Phoenix is over, and New Year's Eve approaches. For winter vacations, Julis invites Ayato to visit her home in Lieseltania. As the king throws lavish parades and parties in their honor, Ayato comes to understand Julis's concerns for her country. To make matters worse, the king insists that Ayato and Julis marry each other! After the ruckus at their welcome party, another visitor makes her appearance--the Witch of Solitary Venom. She sets her sights on the pair, and Julis seems to know more than she's letting on...

Not everyone in the Phoenix fights fair... At long last, Ayato and Julis have reached the final matches of the Phoenix...but Flora Klemm has been kidnapped! Not only that, but Ayato can't use his greatest weapon-or her captors will do their worst. If he and Julis want to rescue their friend and win the tournament, they'll need their wits, allies, and more than a little good luck!
