Výklad apoštolského vyznání víry. Na konci šedesátých let se mladý profesor Ratzinger stal světově známým díky knize Úvod do křesťanství. Pokouší se v ní odpovědět na otázku, co je obsah a smysl křesťanské víry. Důkladnost a hloubka, s níž zde odkrývá základní problémy křesťanské existence, je ohromující i na počátku 21. století. Za orientační vodítko svých úvah si autor zvolil text apoštolského vyznání víry (Věřím v Boha), jímž si křesťané různých konfesí udržují v živé paměti základní pravdy víry.
