    The Rev. Charles Merivale byl anglický historik a děkan katedrály v Ely. Byl jedním z hlavních iniciátorů první oxfordsko-cambridgeské lodní regaty, která se konala v Henley v roce 1829. Jeho historická díla se zaměřovala na starověký Řím a zanechala trvalý odkaz v britské historiografii.
