Lakomec je klasická komedie o pěti dějstvích od francouzského herce, spisovatele a dramatika Molièra, poprvé uvedená v Paříži v divadle paláce Palais Royal v září 1668. Lakomec je asi nejznámější Moliérovou komedií. Hlavní postavou je šedesátiletý vdovec, lichvář a necitelný lakomec Harpagon, který je pro peníze schopen obětovat vše, i rodinu a děti. Ztráta jeho bohatství pro něj představuje ztrátu smyslu bytí a zdravého rozumu. Jeho postava je tragikomická a představuje Molièrův důkaz o tom, že peníze přirozeně deformují charakter a mezilidské vztahy. Podle jména hlavní postavy se vžilo i označení harpagon jako prototyp velkého lakomce.
