Ernst Wilhelm Julius Bornemann narozen v Berlíně (12.4.1915 - červen 4, 1995) byl německý spisovatel zločinu, filmař, antropolog, etnomuzikolog, jazz hudebník, jazz kritik, psychoanalytik, sexuolog, a oddaný socialista. Všechny tyto různé zájmy, jak tvrdil, měly společné kořeny v jeho celoživotní neukojitelné zvědavosti. Od 1982-1986 byl prezidentem Německé společnosti pro sociálně vědeckého výzkumu sexuality. V roce 1990 mu byla udělena Magnus Hirschfeld medaili pro sexuální vědu.
