Svá rukojmí jsou ochotni propustit pouze tehdy, když jim bude vydán Batman, aby se stal jedním z nich. Batman #327 (Původně vyšlo v září 1980) Z Arkhamova ústavu utíkají chovanci a Batman se tedy v přestrojení za pacienta vydá zjistit proč. Zakrátko poté už Temný rytíř sám bojuje, aby si uchoval zdravý rozum.

Hluboko v tajné výzkumné základně letectva Spojených států probíhá kybernetická revoluce. Vědci z projektu MEMY tady z pokusných domácích zvířat stvořili novou třídu kyborgů – bytosti z masa a kovu, navržené k tomu, aby ovládly bitevní pole zítřka. Triumfálním výsledkem projektu je trojice prototypů s kódovým označením MY3 – z nichž každý je sestrojen a vytrénován ke specifické roli v rámci týmu. Vybaveni zdokonalenými nervovými systémy a supermoderní vojenskou technikou jsou MY3 definitivní verzí řízených střel – stejně tak programovatelní jako autonomní, stejně loajální jako naprosto nelítostní.
